Introducing Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine
Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine is the oldest school of its kind and was founded in 1898 by a Liverpool ship owner, Sir Alfred Lewis Jones, to investigate diseases affecting his employees. It became the first institution in the world primarily devoted to tropical health.

Project Profile
The refurbishment of the newly acquired Wolfson Building at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine had its hot and cold water installation facilitated by VSH Tectite Classic.
The specification of VSH Tectite Classic, in the next chapter of the school’s history – the Wolfson Building - enabled a heat free, speedy installation due to the push-fit technology synonymous with the VSH Tectite brand. This system utilised VSH Tectite Classic for its hot and cold water system in this situation yet, is entirely suitable for domestic and commercial heating systems too. Efficiencies and savings in terms of time, speedier installation and no requirement for hot works permits made VSH Tectite Classic the ideal system in this complex refurbishment project.
The £7m, 30,000sq ft investment will support the ongoing critical work into the research, prevention and treatment of tropical diseases.
