Technical Questions - General
We do not advise the use of any jointing compound on a standard compression fitting used on water supply systems. There may be a need to apply jointing compound to fittings used on gas systems.
In this instance we recommend the joint is made first, dis-assembled, the jointing compound applied, then the joint is re-made as this will prevent the compression olive from creating a false seal by compressing to the compound.
Mk 1 are for use with VSH XPress Stainless, VSH XPress Carbon, and MK 2

VSH Xpress Gas Fittings come with a yellow 'O' ring and the body of the fitting should be marked with the word 'Gas'; VSH XPress Solar Fittings come with a green 'O' ring and carry an orange sticker
It is essential when cutting Carbon Steel tube to use a dedicated cutting wheel designed to cut this harder material. We recommend the TC 155 from our VSH XPress range
No - for Gas installations it is essential to use traditional Craftsmen's Flux (131)
Always ensure that you are removing all of the Chrome Plate to the socket depth of the fitting, before you continue with standard preparation instructions - refer to our Yorkshire Data Book for full details and instructions
